Empowering women entrepeneurs

The West Midlands Turkish Association is excited to partner with academics from the University of Birmingham Business School to offer a specialised training on Generative AI for Digital Marketing, tailored to support Turkish female entrepreneurs running micro-businesses.

This free training program aims to provide attendees with essential insights, networking opportunities, and practical resources to help their businesses grow. Spaces are limited, and participants will be selected through an application process that includes a brief questionnaire. The event will consist of three focused sessions, and all participants who complete the training will receive an attendance certificate.

WMTA CELEBRATED 101. ANNIVERSARY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE

The West Midlands Turkish Association hosted a Republic Ball at Solihull Regency Hotel on Friday, October 25th, in celebration of the 101st anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Türkiye. Our Chairman Dr Göktuğ Tenekeci and a committed volunteer group organised the event for approximately 150 guests, including esteemed figures such as the General Consul of Türkiye and British MP Khalid Mahmood, alongside many other prominent community members.

The evening featured a captivating concert by renowned Turkish classical music artist Yıldırım Bekçi, creating a memorable atmosphere. Guests also enjoyed a performance by the Birmingham Turkish Folk Dance Group, showcasing traditional Turkish culture through dance. To further support the community, a raffle was held, with proceeds going toward the West Midlands Atatürk Turkish School, an institution founded by the association to promote Turkish language and culture among younger generations. The event was a celebration of Turkish heritage and a testament to the close-knit Turkish community in the West Midlands.
